Peugeot to Unveil New 208 and Launch Van Scrappage Scheme at National Ploughing Championships

Gowan Distributors Limited, Peugeot Importers in Ireland, will unveil the new 208 at the Peugeot stand and launch a Peugeot van scrappage scheme at this year’s National Ploughing Championships from the 22nd – 24th September in Stradbally, Co. Laois. With sixteen vehicles across the award-winning Peugeot range on display, Peugeot brand ambassador appearances have been confirmed from Peugeot Sport rally ace Craig Breen, Kilkenny hurling coach legend, Brian Cody, Tipperary and Wexford Hurling Captains, Brendan Maher and Matthew O’Hanlon and two celebrated Limerick Senior hurlers, Declan Hannon and Sean Tobin.

The newly-launched Peugeot 208 will take pride of place on the Peugeot stand, beside the best-selling Peugeot 2008 crossover and ultra-modern Peugeot 308 hatchback and SW ranges. Just arrived in Peugeot Dealer forecourts this month, it has been finessed with a more assertive styling, fresh exterior colour choices including textured paint and an exciting range of personalisation options. The range also benefits from the latest petrol and diesel engines from Peugeot, including the newly crowned PureTech petrol International Engine of the Year 2015 category winner and a record-breaking BlueHDi diesel engine. Priced from €14,845 plus delivery charges and covered by a five year extended warranty, a 3.9% PCP low-cost finance offer is available at Peugeot Dealers.

On show at the National Ploughing Championships will be three versions, showcasing both petrol and diesel engines, the new, vibrant Orange Power colour, an Ice Grey textured paint version with Lime Green personalisation pack and the stunning new GT Line version.

Joining the Peugeot 108, 2008, 308, 508, 3008 and 5008 ranges on the stand will be the exquisite new 508 RXH 2.0 litre 180bhp automatic, the new Partner van, the new 3008 Commercial, the Peugeot Expert and Boxer vans.

Taking full advantage of the 180,000+ expected visitors to this year’s Ploughing, the lion-brand will launch a new van scrappage programme. Under the scrappage scheme, customers with vans dating pre-2007 are offered a minimum €3,000 scrappage off the newly launched Peugeot Partner van, a minimum €3,500 off the load-lugging Expert van or a minimum €4,000 scrappage off the Peugeot Boxer.

Emma Toner, Marketing Manager at Gowan Distributors Limited, Peugeot Importers, said, “The National Ploughing Championships has become one of the highlights in our annual calendar of events when we get a chance to talk directly with so many of our existing customers from all over Ireland and meet new prospects. This year our plot is bigger and better than ever and the range has never been so stylish, so young, so good. We very much look forward to a fun-filled week when visitors get the chance to meet a whole host of sporting heroes and to talk to Peugeot experts from all over the country.”
